April 2009

The April 2009 trip was incredible! The highlight was the inaguration of the water project providing clean water to over 40 families in El Ocotillo and San Miguel del Eden. We also visited two new villages that desperately need water. We commited to the projects in a village called Paraiso and another way up in the mountains called Planes de la Mora.

We visited our previously completed projects in El Portillo de la Oki and El Negrito. The schools are thriving and the kids were so excited to get their school kits! Thanks to all those who helped provide the kits. The people in the village appear healthier and happier and certainly cleaner with water now in their lives. They reported to us that they don't get sick as often and ticks, rashes, etc have dissapeared.

We spent time in La Ceiba with our friends at Helping Honduras Kids at the Jungle School and Hogar de Amor Orphanage. We visited Charlie and Amalia of HondurasChildren.org and their child care center. We spent time at the SOS Orphanage visiting our sponsored children. A highlight was visiting Valerie and seeing how her work has progressed with HIV victims on the island of Roatan.

The golf tournament is coming up on June 15th at Stonebridge gold course in Salt Lake City. See you there!
