Schoolsschool childrenThe "Amigos" travelled to a new part of Honduras on this trip to the peaceful area called the Copan Ruins. This is in the far west of Honduras, only minutes away from the Guatemalan border. Amigos now works closely with Ellen Finn who does school projects high in the mountains above Copan. She showed us two new roofs that Amigos funded.

We hosted a party in Roatan for the families of the HIV victims that Valerie Nelson works with. Most of the 100 or so attendees have never been to the "rich" side of the island where the Banana Rama is located. A great time was had by all.

Also in roatan we spent time with Courtney Lenox. She works with street kids in the Flowers Bay ghetto of Roatan. She has started a basketball league that is very succesful. Courtney labors in an area that has much drug trafficing.

basketball teamlittle girlOur week, as always finished up in Comayagua, where we hooked up with our engineers Carol and Francisco. We inagurated two great new water projects.

Las Mesas is near the highway running from Tecucigalpa to Comayagua. Our pipeline travelled 12 kilometers to reach these happy people!

Palo Blanco was a project in the lowlands where we rebuilt a well and water tank to provide water to 80 families. We have committed next to help them with the latrine system at their school, where currently 120 share an outhouse.

We have accomplished much but much is left to do!

Gracias!
